Should we live for ourselves or for others? This is a question that has been bothering me from childhood. Should we expire to earn a living or to make a difference in our community? Let’s see together who is more impactful.
In Pignin quarter, lived, Pa Jacob and Pa Paul, both wealthy entrepreneurs. Pa Jacob held as primary interest, to see his community grow, thus, putting smile on people’s faces through community services. He will bring up initiatives like building public taps, organizing clean-up campaigns and distributing school materials to successful students at the end of each year in order to promote academic excellencein his community.
Although he wasn’t the chairman of a political party, he picked up all this initiatives. More so, Pa Jacob had a team of profound young leaders that he mentored in order for the wisdom to be disseminated across the globe. In this his small academic, he lifted up many youth to amazing leadership positions for free, by making the think different. He needed no guard to watch over his wealth as we will see subsequently with Pa Paul.
When Pa Jacob clocked 60, he lose his energy, he couldn’t any longer proceed with his actions. But, guess what? He had many of his mentees that took over and his ideas didn’t expire. Pa Jacob is no more today, but his thoughts live in people, on streets, in houses and in books. He has overshadowed the power of time, the present and future generation will learn of him thanks to his actions.
Is it indeed the case with Pa Paul? I guess no. Pa Paul lived for one aim, money. Although he was a wealthy man, with billions in his account, he regarded no room for his community. Indeed, he was a Japanese hand break when it comes to spend money. The rate of illiteracy, poverty and underemployment kept rising, turning his community into an unsecured zone. He had military men as bodyguards and was unable to walk on streets because of his abrupt immoral acts perpetuated with young girls in town. All those that ran to him for help, received either dismal or a funny treatment, notably, insults or strokes. But did Pa Paul knew that this day will come?
The interesting part is the death of Pa Paul. Woah! The whole community was overjoyed, many familiescelebrated. And the day he was buried; his thoughts, actions and everything related to him faded. Indeed, we could say as Jared Angira that he was buried without a Coffin. Even his house faded, for his children changed the name. Now, did he reallyexist? Would you like to be the type of Pa Jacob or Pa Paul? Would you expire to earn a living or to make a difference? Please drop a comment on your standpoint.
